Why KKJ?
Heart of Research & Development

Kitakyushu Science and Research Park

Innovation thrives at the Kitakyushu Science Research Park (KSRP), a single campus uniting three national, public and private science universities and research institutes, forming an intellectual foundation for KKJ’s development as an industrial city. This collaborative environment brings together the research of 2,401 students (including 621 international students), 165 teaching staff, 191 researchers, and 46 companies.
The Kitakyushu Foundation for the Advancement of Industry, Science and Technology (FAIS) plays an instrumental role in coordinating collaboration between industry and academia by utilizing this collaboration and supporting research and development with universities, research institutes and companies in Japan and overseas.
